Vision:
That every disadvantaged child in our community has access to the necessary supplies and materials needed to be successful and happy in an educational setting.
Our History:
Project Ready for school was founded in 2015 in Miami, FL. We raise funds year round through different events and on our website with the goal of providing disadvantaged students with school uniforms and supplies.
Our organization partners with Miami-Dade County Public Schools that are participating in the Title I Program. “Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Act, as amended (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Federal funds are currently allocated through four statutory formulas that are based primarily on census poverty estimates and the cost of education in each state.” Schools enrolling at least 40% of students from low-income families are eligible to participate.
However, while the state provides schools with funding, these funds are allocated to help close the academic gap. Schools do not receive funds to provide students with school uniforms and/or supplies. This is where our organization comes in. We raise funds to provide these students with school uniforms, shoes, and the necessary supplies they need to be successful in school.
